Beloved Star Pat Finn, a versatile actor, Known For Appearances in Friends and The Middle, Passes Away at 60 Years Old.
American actor Finn, who featured in popular television series like Friends, Seinfeld and "The Middle", has succumbed aged 60.
The skilled improv artist succumbed at his home in Los Angeles, California recently following cancer treatment since 2022, according to media reports.
"Pat Finn considered no one a stranger - only friends he had yet to meet," his loved ones said in a announcement.
They continued that he had "embraced life completely - with joy and exuberance".
A Prolific Career on Screen
Finn's first television role was in the George Wendt Show in the mid-90s, where he portrayed the titular character's brother.
He was also seen in a regular part on Murphy Brown in the latter half of the 1990s.
He starred as Joe Mayo in the show Seinfeld in 1998, portraying a social organizer famous for delegating tedious tasks to his guests.
During the end of the 90s and start of the 2000s, he had guest spots on a variety of well-known programs, including:
- King of Queens
- "Friends"
- "That '70s Show"
- House
Finn was perhaps best known for portraying Bill Norwood in The Middle, featuring across eight seasons over nearly a decade.
His work in movies are It's Complicated (2009) and Santa Paws 2: The Santa Pups (2012).
A Life in Improv
Outside of his on-screen roles, Finn was a skilled improviser and also taught at the University of Colorado, where he was an adjunct professor.
He was a member of a six-person improv troupe called Beer Shark Mice.
"Pat taught, supported, and inspired countless students during his career and it would be difficult to find a person anyplace who has an unkind word to say about him," his relatives stated.
Paying homage, peer actor Richard Kind said there was "nobody more kind, gentle, and humorous, grounded individual you could encounter".
"Perpetually optimistic, making those around him better and funnier. A wonderful father and man," he shared publicly.
Pat Finn is remembered by his spouse Donna, his children, and his parents and siblings.
