An individual of Australian nationality who jumped past a barrier and reached for celebrity Ariana Grande has been sent away and barred from Singapore.

The man, aged 26, was given a sentence to nine days in detention for disrupting public order and has now been "banned from entering the country again," the country's border control told Singaporean press.

Wen pushed beyond security and approached aggressively the performer and artist, who was participating in the Asian debut for the film on November 13. Fellow actress Cynthia Erivo pulled him back from Grande.

The individual has a record of causing disturbances at events and star-studded occasions, including jumping on stage at a Katy Perry performance in Sydney in this summer.

The event provoked strong reactions in Singapore, with numerous people claiming he of re-traumatising Grande.

The celebrity has mentioned dealing with PTSD after a terrorist bombing at her concert in Manchester in several years ago resulted in the deaths of over twenty people and injured hundreds.

In the legal process, the court heard he had tried to gain access on the film's premiere on two occasions, according to Singaporean media.

He then made a second attempt to breach security. Protection personnel prevented him and held him in place.

Wen later posted video clips expressing gratitude to the star for letting him on the carpet and said he was "free."

Police detained him the next day and charged him with causing a disturbance, to which he confessed.

The District Judge the magistrate was cited by Channel News Asia as remarking that the man sought attention, noting that he was wrong to believe he would not face any penalties.

The singer has not addressed the incident.

Erivo spoke about the event to NBC, stating that she "simply desired to make sure my co-star was secure."

"I believe he had no intention to us danger, but you can't predict with such situations, and I sought to ensure that she was fine. That was my first instinct," she said.
