Shock as Renowned South African DJ Shot Dead in the City of Johannesburg.
A prominent South African media personality and entertainer has been murdered in the nation's economic hub Johannesburg, causing national outrage across a country battling rampant crime.
Warrick Stock, popularly known as DJ Warras, was shot and killed in the city centre on Tuesday afternoon.
Authorities reported the 40-year-old entertainer was approached by three suspects, with one shot at him before escaping on foot.
The motive behind the attack remains unclear and no one has been arrested have taken place, according to authorities.
The Fatal Incident
Law enforcement revealed that Stock was targeted as he was exiting a location near the city center landmark.
He had spent several hours at the property overseeing the installation of safety equipment, which had been illegally inhabited by unidentified individuals, as per local media.
"The report indicates the victim was approached by three unidentified men after parking his vehicle, and they began shooting at him before fleeing the scene on foot," authorities stated.
Surveillance tape showed a individual with dreadlocked hair and wearing what resembled a protective services outfit firing shots on Stock before making his escape.
The DJ tried to run away after he was wounded but fell down across the street.
It was further revealed that Stock had an unused firearm and no items were stolen during the incident.
Important clues, like bullet casings, were discovered at the scene.

Authorities have requested anyone who saw the event who may have seen the suspects to come forward.

A cabinet official said he was outraged and heartbroken by Stock's murder.

A political leader said the "shocking killing of DJ Warras in broad daylight is a trauma for all South Africans".
A broadcasting director noted that "DJ Warras was more than just a TV personality. He was a skilled narrator, a passionate music lover and a generous spirit who brought happiness and vitality to every performance. His commitment to his craft left an lasting impression."
In a release, the broadcaster he worked for said Stock was known for his charisma, kindness and intelligent commentary, adding that his influence "will be remembered".
